I know I said I would do a list of the best dads in the genre before Father’s Day. Well, it’s 11:30 Saturday night, and you’re getting a best looking dads of horror list. The truth is that I am both lazy and superficial.

I’m gonna go in chronological order of when the movies were made, more or less. A couple of disclaimers: I couldn’t find a picture of Bo Hopkins in the 1983 slasher Sweet Sixteen, but I found one taken in 1983. Also, honorable mention goes to Billy Burke of the Twilight series and Kyle Chandler of Super 8, because one is in a vampire movie and the other is in a thriller, and both are handsome.

Actually, Billy Burke’s face was the one that gave me the idea for this post. I realized I must be getting older when I had no use for any other guy in the Twilight franchise, but he looked damn good to me. Well, if my tastes are going to run towards mustachioed cop dads as I age, at least there is plenty of eye candy on the screen.
